DR OLLY, WHAT ARE YOUR QUALIFICATIONS?

BDS, Newcastle University 2017. Bachelor of Dental Surgery. I am also author of the book ‘EASY LIFE DENTISTRY’. That’s it. I’m not a licensed therapist, psychologist, physiotherapist, dietician, or any of these things. What I offer through my platform is knowledge and experience. I have an immensely strong drive to help other dentists avoid the stresses and pitfalls that I have found myself fall victim to. As a self-help enthusiast and naturally gifted writer, my true value lies in how I can take difficult situations in the field of dentistry and lessen their impact on our wellbeing as dentists.

WHAT’S THE DEAL WITH YOUR MENTORSHIP?

I’m offering one-on-one, private mentorship in the form of virtual meetings and workshops to help any newly qualified, stressed or quietly unconfident dentists navigate their daily struggles as dentists. My book is also designed to help these individuals, and serves as a useful adjunct to any mentorship sessions. After an initial session, follow up sessions can be booked at a discounted rate.

What if i feel like i don’t need a mentor?

If that’s the case then I’m really happy for you, ultimately that’s where I want you to end up. Stress-free, focused and thriving, with a healthy perspective on working as a dentist and the bigger picture of life outside of the practice. If you don’t find yourself struggling with communication between you and your patients and colleagues, you have no issues with time management, you don’t get stressed anymore and you never get patient complaints, then you will likely be fine without my mentorship.

I HAVE A DENTOLEGAL ISSUE I NEED YOUR HELP WITH. CAN YOU HELP ME?

No, I can’t. I can’t technically take on a mentoring session if it relates to a specific dentolegal event, and would strongly encourage you to go to your indemnity provider. I can however discuss anonymised details about what led to the problem you’re having and therefore help you deal with the bigger picture surrounding it.

ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULd KNOW?

The advice and guidance I provide are solely based on my opinions and my personal and professional experience. There is no guarantee that you will have similar outcomes, particularly since I can’t hold your hand when you are in work and make sure you’re applying your learnings correctly. As a dental professional, all advice must be employed in the best interests of your patients. You must strictly adhere to the guidance provided by your national registration body.

I release mentoring sessions on a case-by-case basis, I can open up a dialogue with you about my availability once you fill in the appropriate form on the ‘MENTORING’ page of this website.

I’M A PATIENT, CAN I BOOK A DENTAL APPOINTMENT ON THIS WEBSITE?

Not directly, this website is mostly to serve as a portal for my dental mentoring program and other works relating to this. However, you can visit the ‘FOR PATIENTS’ tab and contact one of the practices for a potential consultation.
